Dirty Dingo slider mounts for about $100 is the way to go. LS motor and any trans will bolt together and drop in with no welding. Do the wire harness yourself and save a butt load of $$. 387. Hey, Looking to see what people have used in an LS swap DBW. I was going to use the stock pedal from the donor truck,but it has an 8 pin connector. I am using the Holley Terminator X max which has the 6 pin connector. The pedal Holley suggests is way too big. Has anyone used a certain pedal for the GMT400 .I have a 1990 K1500. It currently has a SM465. I'm planning on dropping in a 5.3 out of a 99 Silverado to replace the current carbed mild-built sbc. I'm looking to swap the SM465 for a box w/overdrive, probably a NV4500 or something similar (have considered an NV3500, but not too sure on how robust they actually are + LS compatibility).

Older OBS to LS wire harness setup. I have. A 1994 c1500 w/t that had the old 4.3 in it. I have the 5.3 dropped I with my 4L60 behind it. The guy from LT1 swap.com already did the pcm reprogrammig. Now for the harness !! I have trimmed it down like he stated in the lt1swap.com website.

Depending on what cam spec you want, you might as well upgrade the valve train, and if you have the valve train out, you might as well touch up the heads...I would just get a LS style 4L60E at a minimum. It all depends on what 4L60E you get. 700 has 4 bolt adapter. old style 4L60E has 4 bolt adapter and same length found on 5.0/5.7. New style 4L60E has 6 bolt and about 3/4" longer. New style 4L60E has removable bell housing found on 4.8/5.3. You will need a torque converter spacer if you use old style 4L60E with 4.8/5.3.I would just get a LS style 4L60E at a minimum. Personally I would ditch the 60E and get a 4L80E though. You could probably trade off the LS1 for an iron 6.0L too, which would work better for the swap. If not then L96 + 6Lxx tranny, the L96 and 6l90 will probably take more work to integrate, so it'll be more expensive. The 6l90 (or 80) would just be awesome in a gmt400.
